Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax Commissionarate, Noida came into existence w.e.f.. August 1997 on bifurcation of erstwhile Commissionerate of Customs and Central Excise, Meerut. Earlier it was located at Meerut itself and designated as Meerut –II Commissionerate. However, being not administratively suitable for the Commissionerate to function from Meerut, it was decided to shift the Hqrs. of Meerut –II Commissionerate to Noida. The process of shifting was completed in the month of November 2000. Meerut –II Commissionerate was officially named as Noida Commissionerate of Central Excise and Customs on 26.06.2001. In the meantime the CBEC further reorganized the Commissionerate on 01.11.2002, when Noida Commissionerate was further reorganized encompassing the geographical areas of Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh.
The Headquarters of the Commissionerate was earlier located at B-123, Sector 5 Noida. It was subsequently shifted to C-56/42, Sector-62, Noida in January 2009. The Commissionarate consists of five Central Excise Divisions and thirty five Central Excise Ranges across the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate. Division Noida-I & Noida-II has been assigned with the Service Tax work of the Commissionerate. There are four Ranges, two exclusively for Service Tax work i.e. Service Tax Range-I & Service Tax Range-II and Central Excise & service Tax Range-XXXIII & XXXIV. Two ICDs viz ICD CONCOR COMPLEX Dadri, and ICD-Surajpur along with 04 CFSs namely CFS Star Track Terminal, CFS Albatross Pvt. Ltd, CFS Trident Terminals Pvt. Ltd , CFS CMA CGM Logistics Park , all situated within the CONCOR Complex Dadri (G.B.Nagar) are also functional under the Commissionerate.
Well known Industrial Houses and Multinationals Companies like LG, Samsung, Honda, Panasonic, Yamaha, Asian Paints, Super Cassettes, Shahnaz Ayurvedic Silver Oak, Kajaria ceramics, Moser Baer, Timex Watches, Videocon, Onida etc. are working in the jurisdiction of this Commissionerate.
